EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation)

Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) is a reduction method used in internal combustion engines.
EGR stands for Exhaust or Emission Gas Recirculation.

The idea behind the EGR system is that an amount of the exhaust gas from the engine is fed back into the combustion chambers through the intake manifold.
The exhaust gas is mixed with the incoming air and therefore the oxygen content of the combustion mixture will decrease.
Thus, more internal gas is introduced into the combustion chamber which can lead to harmful effects.

The EGR valve can indicate a malfunction through the engine management and coil light.
In some cases, this can manifest itself in an emergency program of the engine, which causes the car to enter a so-called emergency run.
Dealers and garages indicate that the EGR valve needs to be replaced, sometimes this goes hand in hand with the EGR cooler.
These costs are around €1000 and it is not guaranteed that the error message will stay away.

TuningFileFactory offers a definitive solution by disabling and shielding the EGR valve software-wise with a cover plate and software modifications.
This is done with professional equipment and programming experience.

Your car will no longer give malfunctions or error messages about the EGR valve. We provide a 5-year warranty on all our services.
Disabling the EGR valve does not affect your MOT inspection.
In addition, your car will consume less due to cleaner combustion.
